Terms of service

Effective: October 14, 2026

These terms are between you (the business owner or the person acting for the business) and Millpond Web ("we", "us"), a sole proprietorship based in Wisconsin. By approving a website to go live or paying for the plan, you agree to them.

1. The free preview

We may build a preview website for your business from publicly available information. Looking at it is free and doesn't commit you to anything. If you don't want it, tell us, or do nothing: we remove a preview 30 days after we send it unless you've asked us to keep working on it.

2. The plan

  • Price: $49 per month, or $490 per year paid in advance. Prices are in US dollars. Applicable sales tax may be added.
  • Start: billing starts on the day your site goes live on your domain. There is no setup fee.
  • Included: hosting, connecting your domain, a security certificate, adding your photos and menu or service list, and reasonable updates you send by email (hours, prices, text, photos, notices).
  • Not included: online stores, custom booking or ordering systems, paid advertising, logo design and photography, unless we agree otherwise in writing.

3. Minimum term and cancelling

The monthly plan has a 3-month minimum from the day the site goes live. After that, you can cancel any time by emailing hello@millpondweb.com; the plan ends at the end of the billing period you've paid for, and there is no cancellation fee. If you cancel during the minimum term, the remaining months of the minimum are still owed. A yearly plan isn't refunded for unused months unless we cancel it ourselves.

If a payment fails and isn't fixed within 14 days of our email about it, we may take the site offline until it is.

4. Your domain and your content

  • Your business name, logo, photos, menu, text and other material you give us remain yours. You give us permission to use them to build, host and update your site.
  • You confirm you have the right to use what you send us (for example, you took the photos or have permission to use them).
  • A domain you already own stays yours. If we register a domain for you, it is for your business and we will transfer it to you if you leave, as long as your account is paid up.
  • If you cancel, we'll send you a copy of your site's files on request.

5. What we ask of you

Don't ask us to publish anything illegal, misleading, or that infringes someone else's rights. We can decline or remove content like that.

6. Availability

We host sites on a large, reliable provider and fix problems as quickly as we reasonably can, but we can't promise the site will never be unavailable. We don't promise any particular search ranking or amount of traffic.

7. Limits on liability

To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim about the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months before the claim, and we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses such as lost profits.

8. Changes to these terms or prices

We'll give at least 30 days' notice by email before a price change or a change to these terms that affects an active plan. You can cancel before the change takes effect without the minimum term applying.

9. Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wisconsin. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Wisconsin.
